In 1934, Salvador came to the Unitd States with his “Dalí Ball” exhibition. He and Gala later went to a Halloween party dressed as the Lindbergh baby and his kidnapper, Bruno Richard Hauptmann. They had to apologize. Later his Surrealist artist friends gave him flak about his apology for a surrealist act.
