Yosemite Valley, Thunderstorm By Ansel Adams

Yosmite Valley, Thunderstorm” by Ansel Adams

(PCM) This photo captured by Ansel Adams was one of the starting points of his relationship with Yosmite National Park and Inspiration Point, which he photographed countless times over the years.

Adams created this image with an 8″ x 10″ view camera in 1945. This view from Inspiration Point is familiar to visitors as it’s often their first glimpse of Yosemite Valley after entering the National Park.

Adams was very good friends with fellow artist Georgia O’Keeffe and the pair would often travel together painting/photographing the American southwest. They had two very different approaches from a stylistic perspective, however both shared an extreme passion for nature.
