Nighthawks by Edward Hopper

Nighthawks by Edward Hopper
Hopper said the it was “was suggested by a restaurant on Greenwich Avenue, in Greenwich Village (Manhattan) where two streets meet,” but no one has been able to say where it was exactly, or even able to identify the diner.
The original name of the work was actually Night Hawks, the painting was completed on January 21, 1942, and sold shortly thereafter to the Art Institute of Chicago for $3,000. It has been parodied countless times.
