The Madonna of the Carnation by Leonardo da Vinci

The Madonna of the Carnation (Madonna with Vase or Madonna with Child) is on display at  the Alte Pinakothek gallery in Munich, Germany. The painting was created in 1478/9, possibly 1480, and is about two feet tall and 18 inches wide.
About the artist: He also worked on flying machines (ornithopter), parachutes and a giant crossbow.
