Saint John The Baptist by Leonardo da Vinci

Saint John The Baptist was probably Leonardo’s last work. John is shown wearing pelts,wild curly hair and has a truly happy smile. He was viewed as a bit crazy. He’s pointing to heaven, illustrating the point that he was the sign that The Savior, Jesus was here.

Leonardo da Vinci – Adoration of the Magi

Leonardo’s The Adoration of the Magi (1481) was commissioned by the Augustinian monks of San Donato a Scopeto in Florence. He left the 97×96 inch painting unfinished. About the artist: Artist, Scientist and Inventor, Leonardo has been described as the archetype of the Renaissance Man.
