Whistler’s Mother by James McNeill Whistler
Whistler’s Mother (aka Arrangement in Grey and Black No.1) was painted in 1871 by James McNeill Whistler, and is one of gthe most parodied paintings of all time. It was an actual painting of his mother, Anna McNeill Whistler, although London neighbor Helena Amelia Lindgren may have sit in for the elderly mother during some of the painting.
