Leonardo’s Saint Jerome in the Wilderness show the hermit/saint in the desert of Syria. Jerome is best known for befriending a lion after taking a thorn out of it’s paw. St. Jerome in the Wilderness is still unfinished and is now in the Vatican Museums, Rome.
